Healthcare environments present unique demands for PVC strip curtains. Installations in NHS and private healthcare settings must satisfy infection control requirements, support NHS cleaning protocols, and withstand the rigours of clinical support environments.
Applications in Healthcare
- Hospital catering and kitchen facilities — pest exclusion and temperature separation
- Stores and logistics areas — goods inward, central sterile supplies delivery, pharmacy stock rooms
- Mortuary cold rooms — temperature maintenance in mortuary storage
- Laundry services — zoning between clean and dirty laundry handling areas
- Porter routes and service corridors — temperature and sound control adjacent to clinical areas
- Ambulance bay access points — preventing heat loss at ambulance bay entrances
Note: PVC strip curtains are not suitable for direct use in clinical areas (wards, theatres, treatment rooms).
Infection Control Requirements
NHS IPC guidance requires all materials in healthcare environments to be cleanable with NHS-standard disinfectants, non-porous, and free from crevices. Standard food-grade clear PVC is generally compatible with NHS cleaning protocols. Anti-microbial PVC strips provide additional protection in catering and mortuary facilities.
Specification for Healthcare
