How do I cut PVC strip curtain material from a roll?
PVC strip material can be cut cleanly with a sharp Stanley knife or heavy-duty scissors. Mark your cut line with a straight edge and cut in one smooth motion. For large quantities, a guillotine cutter produces the cleanest edge. Avoid using blunt blades which tear rather than cut the PVC and leave rough edges that can catch and cause premature splitting.
Can I mix grades in the same curtain?
Technically yes, but it is not recommended. Different grades have different flexibility and weight properties, which can affect how the curtain hangs and seals. For temperature-critical applications, mixing standard and polar grade strips will create cold bridges at the standard strip positions. Always use the same grade throughout a curtain installation for consistent performance.
