Highly effective abattoir blackout strip curtain kit ideal for locations which require screening to hide animal processing from general view. The simple, cost-effective way to comply with regulations whilst maintaining easy access. Can also keep out weather, dust, flying debris, and pests—recommended for personnel and careful trolley use only.

Classic Strip Curtain Rail Format: Hook-On is the classic strip curtain rail format. The 430-grade stainless steel makes these rails particularly good for use in areas where appearance and cleanliness are important. The PVC strips are fitted with corresponding metal plate sets that simply hook on (or off) the rail for ultimate ease and convenience.

Flexible Installation: Rails can be face or soffit/underside fitted using the pre-drilled M6 fixing holes. Fixings not included (should be supplied by installer and be suitable for fitting surface). Note: Rails are not self-supporting—they must be fitted onto a structurally supporting surface across the whole opening span.

Solid Black Opaque PVC: The non see-through colour of this standard PVC product makes it ideal for areas where total privacy or total blackout is required. Provides effective screening with easy passage through whilst maintaining complete regulatory compliance.

💡 Hanging Tip

Strips are supplied rolled-up. When first hung, this may result in the base curling upwards slightly. This residual curl will naturally fall out given time (may take longer in cold conditions).

Quick fix: Before hanging, unroll and leave to flatten out overnight. If not practical, try reverse rolling the strips or applying gentle heat.

PVC strip is a consumable product with lifespan dictated by usage environment and traffic volume. For maximum durability, fit curtains internally behind doors or openings for shelter. Indoor installations in abattoir environments can last many years under regular use. Some customers replace PVC annually in high-traffic areas, while others maintain the same curtains for many years in protected environments.
