Can PVC sheet be used as a welding screen?
Clear PVC sheet cannot be used as a welding screen — it provides no UV protection and is not EN1598 certified. For welding applications, you must use welding-grade PVC (dark green or red) certified to EN1598 and ISO25980. Our welding curtain rolls are available in the same format as PVC sheet, cut from a 50m bulk roll to your required dimensions.
What thickness is the PVC sheet?
Our standard PVC sheet is 2mm thick — the same grade as standard strip curtain material. This provides good clarity and flexibility while being robust enough for most industrial and commercial applications. For applications requiring greater rigidity, 3mm sheet is available on request. For very thin protective applications, 1mm sheet is also available — please contact us for pricing on non-standard thicknesses.
